Rev Your Organization’s Governance Engine by Empowering Your Board
Learn what good boards (and board members) do and what they don’t do
This workshop deep dives into the critical roles board members play at nonprofit organizations. Topics covered will include expectations for board members, as well as the governance, financial and legal roles and responsibilities they assume when joining a board. Attendees will also learn how effective boards operate, ways they can find the right board given their passion and experience, and how to create strong board/staff partnerships.
Attendees will leave the workshop with a thorough understanding of:
- Nonprofit board members’ 3 legal duties
- Appropriate responsibilities for governing boards and the scope of those responsibilities
- Meeting management tricks to keep your board on time, on track, and out of the weeds
- Effective ways to structure your board’s committees
Designed for current and prospective board members, community members, those seeking board positions, and executive directors and management staff. This session will be facilitated by CNE Team members Amber Coté and Abby Laine Sienkiewicz.
