ALLIANCE FOR KIDS: The El Paso County Early Childhood Council is designed to work collaboratively on a high quality early childhood system focusing on Early Care and Education, Health, Mental Health and Family Support. EMPLOYING AGENCY: Joint Initiatives for Youth & Families POSITION SUMMARY: SUPERVISION:
v Implement the annual strategic plan, as approved by the Alliance. v Review and prepare quarterly reports on the status of implementation of the strategic plan. v Provide leadership and guidance to Alliance sub-committees. v Develop and maintain positive relationships with Alliance members and other community professionals through effective coordination, communication, and continuity. v Identify strategic funding opportunities and partnerships that support building an integrated early childhood system. v Serve as the primary grant writer for funding opportunities that support the Alliance’s strategic direction. v Provide fiscal management and oversight to assure that legal requirements are met and that budgets are prepared and managed, within their requirements. v Provide written budgetary reports to the Alliance as required. v Ensure compliance with all Alliance, local, State, and Federal guidelines. v Act as liaison to State and Federal agencies concerning public policy, programs, appropriations, standards, and other matters related to early childhood development. v Manage special Alliance projects, as directed by the Executive Committee. v Assure effective management of Alliance general meetings, through planning and preparation with the Executive Committee of the Alliance. v Support existing collaborating agencies and recruits additional members for the Alliance in the focus areas of: early care and education, health, mental health, family support. v Serve as a liaison to and between other community initiatives (e.g. HB 1451-WAY for Families, business community, etc.). v Maintain confidentiality related to Alliance and family related information and data. v Performs other duties as required.
EDUCATION:
EXPERIENCE: Required Skills and Knowledge: v Be knowledgeable of integrated systems. v Ability to work with diverse individuals and agencies. v Promote consensus among diverse opinions. v Knowledge of community resources. v Excellent written and oral communication skills. v Able to balance multiple priorities, various goals, and needs. v Work autonomously and act independently within the context of the Alliance Executive Committee and Joint Initiatives for Youth & Families’ direction and support. v Proficient in Word, Excel, Powerpoint. v Proficient in fiscal management.
