The Opportunity Southern Colorado Aids Project is seeking a full-time Executive Director to lead the Southern Colorado Aids Project (S-CAP).
Position Summary S-CAP seeks a leader dedicated to HIV/AIDS care and prevention is his or her primary motivation. This person must demonstrate ability to achieve desired results through a team-oriented approach appropriate for the organization. This is a high-energy position, requiring a dynamic individual comfortable with working with a wide variety of community constituents and interests. The Executive Director must demonstrate experience in business management, business planning and financial management. Candidates demonstrate the ability to successfully manage people and operations by leveraging team assets, delegating appropriately, and coaching/mentoring the professional team to achieve results. He or she understands how the nonprofit sector works and how to apply sound management principles to positively affect program growth and diversification, resource and financial management, administrative systems, governance and management. This person must enjoy building enduring relationships, with a special focus on inclusivity, among a variety of constituents, including individuals, corporations, foundations, elected officials and government agencies. A demonstrated track record illustrating both ability and desire to raise money for the programs and operations as well as capital projects are essential. The Executive Director is ultimately responsible for the budget process of the organization. It is understood that the responsibility for S-CAP�s overall financial health is shared in partnership between the board and the senior staff.
Position Requirements: The Executive Director reports to the President of the Board and provides leadership to meet immediate and strategic goals for S-CAP�s current and future needs. The Executive Director will provide leadership and support to the Board members, committees, staff and other constituents in the achievement of the organization�s goals. The ideal candidate will have aptitude in a grassroots, activist, entrepreneurial environment in the not-for-profit, for-profit, or government sectors. A bachelor�s degree from a four-year college or university or year-for-year experience is preferred.
